Jourdanton Powerlifters continue the tradition of taking home medals from Boy’s STATE!!!
JoAntony Mendoza (senior) and Joseph Hernandez (sophomore) both earned the team points and medals. Jojo place 4th in the 181’s and Joseph placed 5th in the 165’s. Donald Neal Parks ( junior) placed 11th among the twenty-one 220 pound lifters. Danilo Lugo (sophomore) was favored to win the 220’s, but on his final lift to seal the victory he lost his balance and let go of the bar. The judges made the unfortunate decision to disqualify him for ”illegally dropping the bar.”
These four lifters have had a truly phenomenal season. JoAnthony will be continuing his lifting career at UTSA. Neal, Dani, and Joseph are eager to start training for next year. These boys have so much room for growth, they certainly will be ones to watch.
Thank you for all of your support this season,
Coach Martin and Dr. Megan Martin
