If a change needs to be made during the school day for your child's dismissal, please contact the ECC office at 830-769-5432, before 2:15 pm to ensure your child's teacher receives the message prior to dismissal. Teachers are working with students and may not get an email or electronic message before the end of the day and know that the change needs to occur.
We will not be escorting students to Smith Village today due to weather. These students will be at car pickup.

The Christmas Holiday will begin Friday, December 17th, 2021 with an early release day. Students will be released at 12:30 pm. There will be no After School Kids program that day. Students will return Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 7:30 am.

Please do not enter the car drop off or dismissal line through the employee gate by the Cafeteria entrance. Your child is not prepared to leave because their name has not been entered on the dismissal list. This causes confusion and interrupts the line of traffic. If your child's name is not on the list, you will be asked to go to the end of the line so that we can bring your child to the front from the classroom at that time. We appreciate your cooperation as we work to ensure your child's safety.

Tomorrow, Jourdanton ECC/Elementary will be honoring our Veterans for Veteran's Day. Please join us at 9:00 am in the Junior High gym as our students sing patriotic songs to recognize them for their service and sacrifice. If you know a Veteran, please bring them to join us. Go directly to the Junior High Gym. Students may not leave with guests from the gym.
Jourdanton Early Childhood Center/Elementary will conduct a lockdown drill Friday, November 12th in the afternoon.
A lockdown is called when there is a threat or hazard inside the school building. In an actual lockdown, the school would contact 911 and local police and other emergency agencies would gather at the school to coordinate the response. The situation is then under the command of the lead police agency.
During an actual lockdown, parents will be informed and instructed by JISD. Please update your phone numbers and emergency contacts. Updates would be posted to the school’s website as well.
We appreciate your cooperation as we practice lockdown procedures with your child. We value your child and their safety and want to be prepared in the event of an actual threat.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 9th, we will be hosting career day for the ECC and Elementary students. We will be having an array of careers coming to the campus to present including helicopters, police cars, and fire trucks.
