Dear JISD Parents,
Last night the Jourdanton ISD Board of Trustees held a meeting to discuss the Jourdanton ISD Dress Code. The Board took action at that meeting in consideration of ongoing grievances and after consideration of advice of legal counsel to remove all gender differentiations. Accordingly, the dress code has been amended for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year as follows:
#7 - In all grade levels, sideburns will be limited in length to the middle of the ear. Students are not allowed to have facial hair.
#10 – Remove the phrase “all boys and girls”
#12 – Remove the phrase “girls having”
These changes and all other dress and grooming guidelines will be followed and enforced for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.
