Remote Learning begins at JISD April 6th

Due to the COVID-19 school closure through April 24th, JISD staff are hard at work preparing our Remote Learning Opportunities for our students. We are committed to supporting our student learning through these unusual times.  

We will provide assignments through Google Classroom and Paper packets that will be distributed and exchanged for returned work on Friday using this same procedure. 

JH AND HS ONLY: You do not have to pick up paper packets if you have access to the internet, a device and can access it at home.  

ELEMENTARY: All students will need to come pick up workbooks and supplies as elementary will be using both paper packets and google classroom

A video helping students and parents navigate Google Classroom will be posted to the website as soon as it's available. 

Each campus procedure is listed below.   

ELEMENTARY - DISTRIBUTE INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES THURSDAY APRIL 2ND AND FRIDAY APRIL 3RD 8AM-4PM  ** PLEASE BRING LIBRARY BOOKS TO TURN IN AS WELL  Paper packets will be distributed and exchanged on Fridays from 8:00am-12:00pm

1.   Display child’s dismissal sign in the front right windshield. 
2.  Drive through Elementary or ECC drop off/pickup line  
3.  Staff calls for your child’s materials and supplies. 
4.  Staff delivers your child’s materials and supplies to your car.  
5.  Please do not get out of your vehicle, walk up to the school, or approach a staff member. We are practicing social distancing and taking strong safety measures.  
6.  Please do not come if you have COVID-19 symptoms.  
7.   Please practice patience. 

 

JUNIOR HIGH  Monday, April 6th from 9am-1pm - First week paper packet pickup Friday,  April 10th 9am-1pm - weekly pickup and drop-off and every Friday thereafter during closure

Procedure  
1.  Walk into the junior high lobby and select the material needed from each grade/subject area. Submit completed assignments to the drop box. If someone else is already in the lobby, remember to practice social distancing and take strong safety measures. (ONLY ONE PERSON IN THE LOBBY AT A TIME.)  
2.  If you are experiencing COVID symptoms, please do not come to the school. 
3. Please practice patience. 

HIGH SCHOOL Monday, April 6th from 8am-12:00pm - First week paper packet pickup Friday, April 10th from 9am-1pm - weekly pickup and drop-off  and every Friday thereafter during the closure.

Procedure: 

1.  Drive through the High School drop off/pickup line. 
2.  Have your student get out of the vehicle, walk up to the boxes and select the material needed from each teacher/subject area. Please remember if there is someone else on the porch already that you are practicing social distancing and taking strong safety measures. (ONLY ONE PERSON ON THE PORCH AT A TIME.) 
3.  Packets may be picked up and dropped off on Fridays starting April 10th, requiring your trips to school be limited to once a week. 
4.  Please make sure that your name as well as your classroom teachers name is clearly written on all papers that you turn into the box.  
5.  Please do not come if you have COVID-19 symptoms.  
6.  Please practice patience.
