ON CAMPUS PARKING

To purchase a JHS parking permit you must have ALL of the following information:

  • Completed Parking Permit Application Printable Application

  • Copy of Proof of Liability Insurance – STUDENT’S NAME & VEHICLE MUST APPEAR ON INSURANCE CARD. 

  • Copy of VALID Driver’s License – NO PERMITS –driver’s photo must be on the license

  • Student must be cleared of all FEES & FINES and have a STUDENT SCHEDULE from JHS only

  • Parking Sticker Fee - $5 for each – Cash/Checks should be made payable to JHS

(PLEASE NOTE: If a student changes vehicles, they must remove the old JHS Parking Sticker from the windshield, return the sticker to the high school office, and purchase a replacement. Additionally, STUDENT'S are responsible for ensuring the office has a current copy of their insurance on file at ALL TIMES.) 

JOURDANTON HIGH SCHOOL 2020-2021 PARKING RULES

1. Possession of a driver’s license does not guarantee the permit holder a parking space. Spaces are limited.

2. Parking at JHS is a privilege – NOT A RIGHT.

3. Permits can be revoked without warning or notice to student drivers for any violation of the Student Code of Conduct as outlined in the Student Handbook.

4. The maximum speed limit is 5 mph.

5. Each vehicle parked on the JHS campus MUST have its own registered parking permit. Students are NOT ALLOWED to sell or give their permits to others. In this instance, BOTH students’ parking privileges will be revoked for the duration of the school year.

6. New vehicles MUST be registered with JHS BEFORE you are allowed to park it on campus.

7. Student must inform the front office if driving a vehicle other than the one listed on application, even if for just one day, before it is driven on campus. Unregistered vehicles may be towed at the expense of the vehicle owner. Warning sticker may also be placed on vehicle. Numerous warnings will result in removal of parking permit.

8. Motorcycles must have a parking permit.

9. If student’s vehicle is damaged or in an accident, please report it immediately to the front office or JHS Administration.

10. Parking permits must be displayed on the windshield of ALL registered vehicles.

11. All students must park in their designated parking space. If student chooses to park elsewhere, the vehicle will be towed. Students with more than 3 office referrals during the school year or receive 10 unexcused tardies per semester upon arriving to school will have their permit revoked for the remainder of the school year.

12. NO student without parking permit is to park at JHS unless that is your assigned parking space. These vehicles may be towed without warning at owner’s expense.

13. Students are responsible for all items in their vehicles. Please clean out your vehicle regularly. Students found with prohibited/illegal items (as defined by the Student Handbook) in their vehicles will receive the consequences as if these items were found on their person, including pending investigation from random canine unit searches. Students withdrawn to DAEP/BROWN will have parking permit revoked for remainder of school year.

14. JHS is not an open campus. Students are not allowed to sit in their automobiles. Students are not allowed to return to their vehicles during the school day without permission. Students are not allowed to leave campus prior to the end of the school day unless they have a scheduled early release period or they have checked out properly with the front office area. Any violation of this nature will be considered truancy.

15. The following violations may result in consequences (including, but not limited to, a citation, removal of parking privileges, and/or vehicle towed):

➢ Excessive tardiness to school      ➢ Peel outs/speeding     ➢ Overcrowded vehicle (more passengers than seatbelts)      ➢ Door dings/vandalism/hit & run/fender bender     ➢ Reckless driving/accident/turfing/donuts      ➢ Car “surfin"      ➢ Passengers on the back of vehicle     ➢ No permit or permit displayed     ➢ No seatbelts/talking on cell while driving     ➢ Taunting from vehicle     ➢ Expired insurance/Expired driver’s license      ➢ Driving on bus ramp during loading hours     ➢ Passengers in the bed of a truck/riding in trunk     ➢ Driving a non-registered vehicle    ➢ Parking in space other than your assigned space   ➢ Loud music/revving      ➢ Disobeying traffic signal/Parking Lot Attendants/Running over cones/running over medians/curb hopping
