History/Science Club

by Erlinda Huizar

August 01, 2008

The History/Science Club is opened to all JJHS students.  The Club is sponsored by Ms. Vivien Howe, Miss Judy Johnson and Miss Erlinda Huizar. The dues are $1.00.  The Club has two major fundraisers during the year:  the Welcome Back Dance held in September and the Christmas Dance held in December.  The date for the dances will be announced later.  The membership drive is held during the first school dance.  Students also have an opportunity to join the Club during the month of September by going by the JJHS Library and pay their dues to Mrs. Wisenbaker or Ms. Howe.  The Club's purpose is to give students the opportunity to explore and discover the history and science around them.  The Club plans trips and activities to places of interest around Texas.  Some of our previous excursions include Columbus' ships in Corpus Christi, the Alamo and Spanish missions in San Antonio, the LBJ State and National Parks in Stonewall, as well as, the Plestex to see movies with a history or science theme.

We encourage all the students at JJHS to join the History/Science Club.
