Dear Ponderosa Leaders,
I hope all of you have found time to rest after this year’ s
SUCCESSFUL Cattle Drive.
Please find time to inspect your fences… like your health, family relationships and professional relationships. Good fences make each of us a better neighbor and it allows for us to concentrate on other things that will lead us down the trail toward continued success. So take the time to inspect your fences and fix any that need fixing.
I have been asked several times about this year’s theme. After much thought and looking over last year’s results, I feel that over 90% of the Jr. High schools in the state of Texas would have loved to have been with us on last year’s cattle drive. We had 100% passing rate on Social Studies, we are in the high 90’s in Writing, our overall passing rates in Math and Reading are in the 90’s, and we were in the high 80’s on our Science TAKS Test. It sure looks to me that the Ponderosa is a great place to be. With so much success, there is still much work to done. We still have fences that need to be looked at and worked on. The great thing about the Ponderosa is that all of its fences are in pretty good shape. We don’t have to build any new fences this year, we just have to make sure we fix the areas in our fences that need repair.
So this year’s theme will be, “Riding Fences on the Ponderosa.”
For Jourdanton Jr. High to go from Good To Better To GREAT and Have Fun, we will need Strong Fences.
So get your cowboy hats, gloves, blue jeans and shirts, and get ready to work fence in 2008/09.
HOSS/RR
