August 18, 2010
My name is Nathan Flynt.
My main area of expertise is Business Education. Courses I teach include Business Information Management (BIM) 2 (regular and dual credit), Oracle Database Design, with SQL, Oracle Database Programming with PLSQL, Web Tech, and Principals of Marketing and Finance.
I am the adviser for the Jourdanton ISD Yearbook - THE CHIEF and the Jourdanton Chapter of the Quill & Scroll International Honor Society for Journalism.
I am also the director of the award-winning Jourdanton ELITE Colorguard.
I began my education at the University of Texas (Hook 'em Horns!) where I was a Music Education major. I continued at Texas State - San Marcos (SWT Go Cats!) where I received a Master of Education in Management of Technical Education.
I currently hold Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Excel and PowerPoint and I am a certified instructor for the ORACLE database software academy. My professional affiliations include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Phi Delta Kappa, Association of Texas Small School Bands, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Educational Colorguard Association, United States Scholastic Band Association, Computer Science Teachers of America, Texas Computer Educators Association, ORACLE Academy Educators, Golden Key International Honor Society and the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
My goal is for all of my dual credit students and database students to have the opportunity to test for industry certification at the conclusion of the school year. Our students have a unique opportunity to gain Oracle Database Administrator certification. This program is unique to Atascosa County. No other county school is currently offering this course work.
