Manuel Tijerina 1st Place SHW class
Squat 635(PR), Bench 350(PR), Dead Lift 600(PR), Total 1585(PR)
All lifts were personal records (PR) for Manuel.
Manuel set 3 meet records including Squat, Dead Lift and Total weight.
Manuel was in a lifting duel with a lifter from Beeville, who was leading the SHW class after the Squat and Bench. Manuel knew he had to lift what would be a new PR of 600 lbs. in order to win the gold. With confidence and determination to win the event, Manuel stepped onto the lifting platform and with a mighty pull, he lifted the 600 lbs. off of the floor and stood up straight. This lift gave him the gold medal and a 5 lb. lead over his opponent from Beeville.
Enrique Lugo 1st Place 242 lb. class
Squat 540, Bench 365, Dead Lift 530(PR), Total 1435
Enrique set 3 new meet records in the Bench, Dead Lift and Total Weight
He won his division by 125 lbs. over the 2nd place lifter from Gregory Portland.
Joe Estrada 3rd Place 181 lb. class
Squat 515(PR), Bench 345(PR), Dead Lift 460(PR), Total 1320(PR)
Joe had a great meet by lifting a PR in each event. The two lifters ahead of him were from Gregory Portland and Tuloso Midway.
Israel Aguero 3rd Place 242 lb. class
Squat 495(PR), Bench 275, Dead Lift 490(PR), Total 1260(PR)
Israel had 3 PR's and edged out former Indian Blade Bronstadt by 10 lbs to win 3rd place. Bronstadt now lifts for Calallen.
Mark Bocanegra 6th Place 198 lb. class
Squat 460(PR), Bench 275(PR), Dead Lift 420(PR), Total 1155(PR)
Even though Mark was 1 place away from scoring some points for the Indians, he still had a great meet as he lifted PR's in each lift.

Squat 240(PR), Bench 115, Dead Lift 230, Total 585
Genilee Molina 5th Place 114 lb. class
Squat 175, Bench 85(PR), Dead Lift 195, Total 455
Deja Huddleston 6th Place 148 lb. class
Squat 155(PR), Bench 110(PR), Dead Lift 180(PR), Total 445(PR)
Deja, a freshman, was lifting in her first ever powerlifting meet and was just 1 place away from scoring points for the Squaws.
Freshman Boys
Justin Brister 3rd Place 275 lb. class
Squat 320(PR), Bench 220(PR), Dead Lift 315(PR), Total 855
Justin was also lifting in his first powerlifting meet and earned points for the freshman team.
John Paul Lugo 6th Place 275 lb. class
Squat 295(PR), Bench 185(PR), Dead Lift 300(PR), Total 780(PR)
Another freshman in his first meet. John Paul was only one place away from scoring points.
Buddy Vega 6th Place 165 lb. class
Squat 260(PR), Bench 155(PR), Dead Lift 275(PR), Total 690(PR)
Also a freshman in his first meet. Buddy came close to scoring points in his first time to lift.
Next Meet for the Jourdanton Powerlifters will be on Februay 11 at Cotulla.
