My name is Jessica Ruple and I teach Second grade. I am so lucky to be able to teach the grade I always dreamed of teaching. When I think about how I got where I am today only one thing comes to mind. Ever since I was a little girl playing with my dolls, I wanted to be a teacher. As a child, I was naming my dolls and bears, teaching them, then grading the "work" they did. When I think about anything else in the world I could be doing, I cannot think of anything else in the world, but being an educator.
HOW DID I GET WHERE I AM TODAY?
I graduated from Falls City High School in 1999 in a class of 30. I then went to Coastal Bend College in Beeville for a year and a half. I then transferred to Texas State University in San Marcos. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in December of 2003. I got my first teaching job for Karnes City ISD teaching third grade. I taught there for one semester, then moved to Pleasanton and began teaching Second grade in Jourdanton. I got married in September of 2005 and we bought a house in Pleasanton. In August of 2006, I started back to school to get my Master's degree in Educational Administration through Texas A&M--Kingsville. I hope to graduate with this degree in the summer of 2009. My husband and I were blessed with a beautiful baby girl in June. Our baby girl is growing and learning new things everyday. We are so proud of her.
To my class:
I am so lucky to be your teacher. I hope you are so excited about this year as I am. All I ask from you this year is for your hard work and respect towards me and your classmates. As a classroom community, with your dedication we will have a successful year.
LET'S DO IT TOGETHER!!!
