I am excited that all 17 of my students caught the second grade wave and surfed in for an exciting school year. This is my tenth year teaching school and six of those years have been at Jourdanton Elementary. I have taught four years in fifth grade, five years in second grade, and one yearin special education. Every year has been very memorable. Jourdanton Elementary is truly a great place to be. I enjoy the staff, students, and parents.
I grew up in South Texas. When I was in the eighth grade my family moved to Jourdanton. I now live in Charlotte with my family on a ranch. My husband, Clint and I have two beautiful children. Cort is a first grader at Jourdanton Elementary. He enjoys playing sports, hunting, and fishing. Cali Drew is 3 years old and enjoys gymnastics. They are such blessings and we are enjoying every minute we spend with them!
Here is some more information on my educational background. I graduated for Southwest Texas State University now know as Texas State in May of 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a teaching focus in Special Education. I am always looking forward to continuing my education through workshops and conferences.
I am a sports fan. I played basketball through out school and participated in rodeos through out my life. I love attending Spurs Basketball games and sporting events with my children. I also love shopping, working in my yard, being outdoors, and spending time with my family and friends.
In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of respect. I work hard to build a community among my students and stress the idea of teamwork. I value cooperation and believe that great things can happen when we work together.
I look forward to working with you and your child this year. You can swim on in at anytime. I will be in the hut daily from 12:15 - 1:00 during my conference.
