Knowledge + Application = Internet Safety

TEA Internet Safety Web Site

In accordance with HB 3171, Section 38.023, the TEA has developed a web site housing a list of online resources for educators, students and parents concerning Internet Safety & Digital Citizenship, including significance of copyright laws, lists of organizations, keeping personal information safe, cyber-plagiarism, and illegal downloads of multimedia.

The site is designed with all three audiences in mind, so anyone can find information specific to his or her needs. In order for students to be safe online, parents, teachers and students should be educated about safe Internet use and fully aware of specific dangers children may encounter in the virtual world. While the Internet can be an invaluable interactive and engaging learning tool, education and common sense are key.

After clicking on the TEA Internet Safety Web Site above, you will be directed to a site where you may pick "Students", "Educators", or "Parents".  Once you click one of these options, you will find different options on the left side of the page to assist you with topics, such as, cyber bullying, organizations, piracy, privacy protection and communication.

It's best to be safe by being smart!!!!!!!!!!!!
