Seven Indians Qualify for Regional Powerlifting

To be held Saturday March 13 in Kingsville

Seven Indians have qualified for the Regional Powerlifting Meet to be held in Kingsville on Saturday March 13. In order to qualify for Regionals, a lifter must be ranked in the top 10 in their weight class.  The top 2 lifters at Regionals will qualify for the State Meet to be held in Abilene, Texas on March 27.

Two Indians are currently ranked #1 in their weight class.  Brandon Brashear is in the 242 lb. class with a 1470 lb. total and Marty Garza is in the 148 lb. class with a 1200 lb. total.

Manuel Tijerina is #5 in the Super Heavy Weight class with a 1260 lb. total.  

Nick Davila and Levi House are ranked #7 in their respective weight class.  Nick is in the 198 lb. class with an 1185 lb. total and Levi is in the 165 lb. class with a 1070 lb. total.

Tyler Verette is ranked #9 in the 275 lb. class with an 1165 lb. total and Aaron Lopez is ranked #10 in the 148 lb. class with a 1020 lb. total.

TJ Romero is ranked #11 in the 123 lb. class and is the 1st alternate with a 785 lb. total.  He will lift if someone ranked above him does not lift.
