Jourdanton's Elementary PE class participated in a Math-A-Thon fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. At more than 30 years old, Math-A-Thon is America's largest education-based fundraiser. It is a supplemental math education program for grades K-8 that also serves as a fundraiser for St. Jude. Each year thousands of schools participate to raise millions of dollars for the patients of St. Jude. St. Jude has developed protocols that have helped bring survival rates for childhood cancers from less that 20 percent to more than 70 percent overall. The money raised makes it possible to treat patients regardless of a family's ability to pay. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.
Jourdanton's Elementary PE class raised $3,853.54. The top fundraising class was 2nd grade raising $1,158.41.
