JJHS Student Council Receives 1st Place in Scarecrow Contest

by Jennifer Huizar

October 17, 2008

The JJHS Student Council participated in the 2008 City Wide Scarecrow Contest.  Their entry was two Native Americans; the male was "Standing Tall" and the female was "Standing Pretty".  The council members who helped with the project were Council President, Kori Hilla, 8th Grade Member Blanca Baeza and 7th Grade Members Jamie Gaydos and Marysol Gonzalez.  They were assisted by their sponsors Miss Erlinda Huizar and Mrs. Jennifer Huizar.  They were able to get all of this done with the help and guidance of Mrs. Jo Ann Wisenbaker.  The council entered their display under the Youth Group category and was awarded 1st Place in the contest.  If you get a chance, drive by the Jourdanton Junior High School and see our Native American Scarecrows.
